Muhammad Rafique Wassan belongs to District Khairpur. He was born on February 15, 1981. Rafique has done Master’s in Anthropology from the Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. Currently he is working as a Research Associate with the Community Health Sciences Department, the Aga Khan University, Karachi, wherein he has been involved in different community-based social development and participatory research study projects, in the urban and rural areas of Sindh province. He has also been contributing in the largest circulated Sindhi daily newspaper Kawish by writing on the socio-political and development issues. In September, 2007, he presented a paper on health disparities in a three-day International Conference titled ‘Spheres of Justice’ in Kolkata, India. He is member of Working Group for Women at the Aga Khan University, Karachi and Population Association of Pakistan. He is also the member of Population Council Islamabad’s ‘Developing Youth Leadership in Reproductive Health in Pakistan’. His areas of interest include equity in health/education, gender equality, democracy, participatory governance and community development. |
