Youth Parliament Pakistan: Fourth Session
Stop Military Actions Immediately in Swat: Says Imran Khan while addressing to Youth Parliament Pakistan

Islamabad; May 9, 2009: Military action in Swat is brutal and have no solution to the problems of terrorism and War against Terror, said Imran Khan while addressing the session of Youth Parliament Pakistan. Mr. Imran Khan, Chairman, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf and former Captain Pakistan Cricket Team said on the topic of Terrorism and Future of Cricket that cricket has also suffered  collateral damage in so called war against terrorism.

Instead of giving a shut up call to Do more orders by US, Pakistan government is following the Give us more Dollars and we would Do More killings strategy and putting the nation and people of Pakistan on stake. Discussing the solution to the problem,  he said that fact finding mission should have been sent to Swat to analyze the situation there and the military action should be the last option as non of the operations whether is Iraq or Afghanistan solved the problem even by the very big military forces of USA. All Parties Conference should have been called to develop a consensus should be developed in this regard. He further added that Balochistan crisis and Military action in Swat driving us back to 1971 situation.

Imran Khan praised the level of knowledge and understanding of the Youth Parliament Members on the issues of National Importance also.

He said that we need to initiate a movement to develop independent foreign policy as per the wishes of the nation and not according to the wishes of West as Pakistan has suffered a lot while following the current foreign policy.

Mr. Ahmad Noor (YP08-FATA01) moved the resolution to deplore the decision of ICC which deprived Pakistan to co-host the Cricket World Cup 2011. The resolution further stated that ICC should consider Australia to be the host of 2011 World Cup and provide a chance to Pakistan to host Cricket World Cup 2015. This resolution was rejected by the House after huge debate and arguments from the Opposition and Government Party.

Ms. Sofia Saeed (YP52-SINDH04) moved the resolution that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should organize a number of tournaments on domestic level by involving sponsors, departments and all the concerned parties to save the whole structure of cricket. This resolution was passed unanimously.

The Youth Parliament Pakistan is initiated and facilitated by PILDAT. Patterned after the National Assembly of Pakistan, the Youth Parliament Pakistan consists of 60 young men and women. The Youth Parliament follows its own two-Party System, an elected Leaders of the House or Youth Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition, a Youth Cabinet, a Shadow Cabinet and Standing Committees. There are two mock parties: The Blue Party (Liberal) and The Green Party (Traditional). The Blue Party is advised by Dr. Donya Aziz, MNA and co-advised by Ms. Tehmina Dasti (former MNA) while Green Party is advised by Engr. Khurram Dastgir Khan, MNA and the co-Advised by Ms. Anusha Rehman Khan, MNA.
